You decide to follow the shadow. Just as you think you're starting to get closer, you again lose track of it amongst the bright tropical trees. You look around in every direction, trying to catch even the slightest movement. Suddenly, you feel something touching your neck. You shiver, quickly turning around to see who or what has touched you.
You hear a boy's laughter. Confused, you look in the direction of the noise. The only thing you see is his black shape as he hides behind another tree.
"What- Who are you?" you ask.
"My name is Nox."
"Well, can you please come out from behind that tree so I can see you?"
He slowly creeps out from behind the tree. You notice that he looks shy, and he doesn't exactly have the greatest posture. You know instantly that your grandmother would not approve.
"Hi," he says, reaching out a black limb for you to shake. "I am Nox. I noticed that you are not from here. I want to help you find your way back to where you came from."
You look at him skeptically, because you can't actually see his face. It is shrouded in darkness. He continues, his voice sounding gentle and friendly, "I mean it. I do not lie to people. Will you trust me?"
