There's that sound again. It sounds like someone is frantically looking for something. You look through the key hole, there's a light coming from the inside. Is it the killer? Do you see a weapon? You hear the police cars approaching. The shuffling sounds stop. Before you can turn away the door swings open and you are staring into the eyes of a cold, dark figure.
