Expected?

You hear banging in the apartment next door. A crash. A scream. Silence. You knew it was coming. What did you expect? Maybe you expected this. Exactly this. Perhaps I shouldn't judge you so soon. Maybe you are an innocent bystander, but we both know that's unlikely. It's a well-known fact that all the people from your city are purely nefarious in nature. Why didn't you do anything during the ransacking next door? Whether you're guilty or not is hard to tell, but it is obvious that you didn't go over and see how or if you could help. What are you doing? Why are you getting up? Just stay sitting on your couch. It's more comfy that way. Are you just checking it out? Is it merely curiosity? You may get killed. Well, you're already in front of the door, and it's already ajar. You might as well go in now.
